The United States Internal Revenue Service (IRS) has approved the 501(c)3 status of the University of San Agustin Pharmacy and Medical Technology International Alumni Association (USAPMTIAA) on October 14, 2015. This means the association is now exempt from federal income tax under the Internal Revenue Code (IRC) Section 501(c)3. Members donating to the association can deduct contributions under IRC Section 170.
The USAPMTIAA is now classified by the IRS as a public charity organization. It is qualified to receive tax deductible bequests, devises, transfers or gifts from its members, under Section 2055, 2106, or 2522.
The effective date of exemption started on September 17, 2015 – the date when the association was incorporated as a non-profit organization in the State of Missouri, USA.
